How to get to Downtown Venice Italy Hotels?
I’m traveling to Venice Italy soon and am looking at hotels. I found a deal I would like to take advantage of but see that there are some water ways between where I believe the auto traffic ends and the water traffic begins. How do I get myself and my luggage from the Airport to a hotel in downtown Venice for a reasonable price? Are there affordable water taxi’s? can a Auto Taxi take me to most places in Venice? Please help, I would be grateful.
Water taxis are very expensive, but the varporetto isn’t too bad. You can take a bus from the airport to Piazzale Roma and catch the vaporetto from there. A trip planner and prices are here for the vaporetto: http://www.actv.it/en . I always just walk in, but I never have a lot of luggage since I live near Venice and just take an overnight bag.
You can find schedules and prices for the bus from Marco Polo airport to Piazzale Roma here: http://www.atvo.it/index.php?lang=en&area=23&menuid=35 or if you arrive at Treviso airport, the schedules and prices are here: http://www.atvo.it/index.php?lang=en&area=23&menuid=36
There are also the Alilaguna boats from Marco Polo airport to Venice: http://www.alilaguna.it/index.en.html This is more expensive than the bus + vaporetto, but can be a nice way to get into the city and may put you close to your hotel depending on where you’re staying.

Is Venice Mestre Safe? What are the attraction around?
I am going Venice in coming May. I will be visiting Venice and i have booked two night accommodation at Venice Mestre.
As i am reaching at night at Venice Mestre, I would like to know is this town safe at night?
Is it recommended to stay at this town instead of Venice. Otherwise do you have any nice budget hotel to recommend for Venice? We are trying to avoid carrying luggage to cross the bridge when reaching Venice.. Thanks.
oh man ,mestre is one of the most ugly places in all italy and there s nothing 2 visit… near the station s not that safe but just don t look around with the typical tourist exression like:”i m lost”! u should look 4 some Hostel In Venice or go to treviso that s close 2 venice and is nice to visit as well.or verona that s romeo n juliet city and it s really nice!

Where should i Stay In Venice and Rome, Italy?
I am having a hard time figuring out where the best locations to Stay In Venice and Rome. I would prefer to stay in an international hotel, near a train station, and hopefully close to the main tourist spots.
Venice is pretty compact you can walk from the train station to Piazza San Marco in 35 to 40 minutes or there’s the vaporetto to get around. I stay in the San Marco area when I’m there rather than near the train station, but there are a lot of options. You can easily get to the tourist attractions on foot from anywhere except the outlying islands like Murano or the Lido. The Hotel Abbazia is close to the train station and is very nice: Hotel Abbazia
Rome is a much larger city. I stay in the Trevi Fountain or Pantheon area most often which aren’t particularly close to a train station, but are walking distance to most of the tourist attractions. If you search the Esquilino-Termini area of Rome on the Venere site, you should be able to find something that meets your criteria. The Radisson Blu for example is right next to the main train station (Roma Termini) and is an international chain. There are also good connections to the rest of the city via the metro or bus. Personally, I would stay somewhere in the middle of the tourist area though.
